A: Stage 1 is for motorcycles with stock engine and with stock air intake and stock exhaust system . These kits include stock Pilot Jets, one size larger Main jets and one needle shims for each carburetor. Stage 2 is for motorcycles with stock or lightly modified engine with improved air intake using stock air intake box and baffled aftermarket exhaust or lightly modified exhaust. These kits include one size larger Pilot Jets, two sizes large Main jets and one needle shim for each carburetor. Stage 3 is for motorcycles with stock or lightly modified engines with individual air intakes and baffled aftermarket exhaust system. These kits include one size larger Pilot Jets, three sizes larger main jets and two needle shims for each carburetor. Stage 5 is for motorcycles with lightly modified engines with individual air intakes and non-baffled exhaust system (racing use only) These kits include a set of two size larger Pilot Jets, a set of five sizes larger Main Jets and two needle shims for each carburetor. Q: Are the jet Kits for all carburetors or for one Carburetor? A: You only need 1 Je Kit for your Motorcycle. If your motorcycle has two carburetors, you will receive two sets, if your motorcycle has 4 carburetor, you will receive 4 sets. Q: What are the needle shims for? A: Needle shims are used to raise the needle to allow for increased fuel delivery mainly during mid range RPM’s. This is a cheaper but effective alternative to so called tapered needles. 2 needle shims are comparable to 1 clip position on the expensive needles. In combination with a better Pilot Jet, shimmed needles are highly effective. Q: Why do you include Pilot Jets?
